The Discovery Zone

Hosting a wide range of interactive experiences, the Discovery Zone will offer hands-on activities and demonstrations designed to engage aspiring young engineers and adults.

We’ll be welcoming a wide variety of organisations with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) at their core and encouraging visitors of all ages to take part and engage with the latest technologies as well as understanding the skills and innovation that shape both the motoring industry and our everyday lives.

Alongside a range of interactive activities available in the zone, our very own Haynes Heritage Engineering car restoration workshop will also be doing live demonstrations and displaying current projects. For all Classic Car enthusiasts, the team will be on hand to talk about what goes into classic car restoration, the techniques used and answer any questions.

The Discovery Zone champions the Museum’s charitable objective to empower people to learn about the automobile as a platform for inspiring a greater understanding of engineering and science. John Haynes first began this when he opened the Museum 40 years ago, and we feel this is a very fitting way to celebrate this anniversary.

Whether you’re a seasoned mechanic, classic car owner or budding young engineer, there will be something for everyone.
